Learning and Living Dynamite’s “Why”

Monday, November 11, 2013Leave a commentbusiness building, CompanyBy Dynamite

This year’s Distributor Conference was filled with learning, laughing, and new friendships. We packed a lot into that weekend and people left feeling reenergized and empowered to build their businesses. Although there was a great deal of information shared at Conference, attendees took home one key piece: a crystal-clear understanding of Dynamite’s purpose (we call it the “why”) that connects distributors, the company, and our products in a deep, personal way.

What do we mean by “Dynamite’s why?” Through a presentation given by CEO Callie Novak, we discovered that effective marketing is done not by connecting with what or even how things are done within a company. Instead, effective business building happens when you connect with the why, or vision, of a company. Most organizations know what they do and, usually, how they do it. But learning and aligning with a company’s inner most driving force, “the why”, is what really inspires people. If you do business with people who believe what you believe, trust arises. It is that trust that creates loyal customers and an impassioned downline.Sinek Quote

In order to think, act, and communicate from Dynamite’s why, you first have to clearly define it. Since the why originates in our limbic brains, the part of our brain that makes decisions but is nonverbal, it is sometimes hard to put into words what we mean. It is an emotion; it is our gut feeling.

Simply put: Vision Statement_Blue
Defining and aligning with the why is important for many reasons. Understanding the purpose of your business keeps you inspired. Knowing that you are helping to improve the lives of humans and animals and empower people will keep you on track and motivated.

It is imperative when building your downline to align with people who share your vision. Your goal then becomes not to sell to people who need what you sell, but to sell to people who believe in what you believe. You become part of an organization that is all rowing in the same direction. You become a powerhouse. You gain loyalty, support, and trust.

You will be hearing more about our vision as a reminder of why we are in this business in the coming months. Only a shared vision of the why will create a lasting, productive business.

Why “why“?

Author, Simon Sinek, has a great 18-minute TED Talk that puts words to our thoughts and feelings that have been growing at Dynamite over the past 4 years. We invite you to watch this video. When you do, we encourage you to imagine how this concept can help you with your Dynamite business.
